Calypso Sunset Beach Hotel offers a staycation with a photogenic view of the sunset and Calypso music. The hotel is located near the Katunayake International Airport in the Iranawila district, in a quiet place near the ocean. Calypso Sunset Beach Hotel entertains guests with various activities available on premises, like playing snooker, board games, or the guitars in our bar area, cycling around the district with complimentary bicycles provided by the hotel, and swimming in the pool. Our restaurant offers diverse cuisines with vegetarian options and open barbeque for special occasions. The dinners are accompanied by a music band playing Sri Lankan Calypso songs, celebrating our culture. Occupying one of the most exquisite spaces of the island Sri Lanka; a divine beachfront from its northwestern coast, The Calypso Sunset is delighted to offer an enrapturing Hawaiian experience of a coastal staycation immersed in the Calypso musicals and the coastal goodness.
OUR ROOMS
Our hotel offers a variety of rooms with all the essential amenities for a comfortable stay and panoramic windows offering a view of the sunset. And do not miss out on a special element – unique paintings created by Sri Lankan artisans for each room individually, with no duplicates.
Activities
Each evening, we invite a Sri Lankan band to play Calypso songs, however, there is more to our hotel than just music! We offer complimentary bicycles and different sports equipment, or, if you prefer to have a restful day, relax in our hammock and have a massage right in your room. If you come with the family, your children can enjoy our bouncer or play one of our board games. We also put on live sports events on our rooftop on special occasions.

Excellent location at sea. Very warm welcome from manager Mr Kumare. The view from thee roof top terrace is great, also to have a meal there (which is possible).
Staff all were super kind and the location was great. 1 minute from the hotel to the beach. They even celebrated my birthday by checking my passport during check-in. Thank you!!
We had the best 3 nights sleep here during our month in Sri Lanka. Lovely room with plenty of hot water. The breakfast was great and we ate in the restaurant each evening which served top quality food. The free pushbikes were a bonus for us to explore the local area and meet with the friendly locals.

The staff were extremely friendly, polite and efficient. The room was excellent, with an extremely comfy bed. Great pool table and crystal clear swimming pool. Free bikes were of excellent quality. The included breakfast was great.
the property is very clean, with very comfortable beds. We had a family room, with beatifull view of the sea, fresh air was amazing. The pool was clean, All staff were very friendly, helpfull, helping with the transport from the airport and around the place. Definitelly we do recommend this place for staying :).
Ideal place if you need a getaway with you loved ones. Just 1.5 hrs from Colombo. Very calm and quiet place in a not so busy area, with privacy, & a very helpful staff. We initially booked the Deluxe Room but the manager was kind enough to upgrade us to their Sunset Suite, which was quite spacious with a superb 180° view of the sea and the pool and had a balcony! Bathroom had a jacuzzi to relax after a tired day! Clean rooms with all amenities! Food was super yummy and the candlelight dinner was definitely worth it! Highly recommend their Thai pork, pasta and the mix rice! Would definitely visit here again ❤️
Food, view in the evening, hospitality, bar and the cleanliness. Well managed to give the best experience for the customer with all they have. Visited with a group of friends. Well maintained hotel with polite, well trained and helpful staff!, Manager Hirantha made sure we had the best time there and reserved the rooftop for our private dinner. Deluxe rooms are super clean and spacious with comfy beds and all amenities. Super tasty food with generous portions! Their Penne Arrabbiata is a must try! Highly recommend for relaxing with a superb sunset while having a dip in the pool!
